Each month, we create a one-of-a-kind chocolate bar exclusively for our Mānoa Monthly members. These small-batch flavors are experimental, seasonal, and almost never made again.

The Small-Batch Box features six limited-edition flavors from 2025 — a curated collection of our most adventurous creations. Some became instant favorites. Others pushed boundaries. All are available here, together, for the first and last time.

If you’re a subscriber, this is your chance to revisit long-gone flavors or share them with someone curious. If you’re not, this is your invitation inside and is a chance to experience the limits of small-batch chocolate at Mānoa Chocolate.

    A blend of creamy 50% milk chocolate with hand-harvested Hawaiian sea salt from Haleʻiwa Salt Co.—a delicate balance of smooth and savory that melts in your mouth.

    This was a game of texture. Texture is an extremely important factor in the taste of a chocolate bar. While the flavor remains simple (with our classic milk chocolate as the protagonist) the crispiness of toasted rice alters the whole experience. The contrast creates harmony and makes for what we're calling one of the more addictive bars of Mānoa Monthly's history.

    Coffee. Banana. Honey-Roasted Peanuts. We started with our creamy 55% Hawaiian Coffee dark milk chocolate as the base. Then, we added banana chips and honey-roasted peanuts to create a crunchy bar that's hard to put down.

    We teamed up with local rum distiller Kō Hana to create the Rum In The Coconut bar. Their Agricole Rum is made from single-varietal sugarcane, hand-harvested and distilled to perfection. We soak our cacao nibs in their rum before transforming them into rich dark 80% chocolate—then take it further by sprinkling the bars with toasted coconut for a taste of paradise.

    A love letter to indulgence. Imagine creamy milk chocolate paired with real strawberry and brown sugar—a nostalgic treat with a grown-up twist.

    A bar we talked about making for years. Cinnamon and cayenne pepper are two classic ingredients that have been mixed with cacao for hundreds of years. Maybe it sounded too simple, or maybe the timing wasn’t quite right, but we finally did it—with our own twist. In addition to chili and cinnamon, we also added local organic ginger and coconut milk.

All of our chocolate is crafted from bean-to-bar at our chocolate factory in Kailua, O'ahu.

direct trade cacao

We're buying cacao direct from the farmer. This allows us to establish long lasting relationships based on trust and quality. By cutting out intermediaries we can also pay our farmers higher prices for their crop.

sustainably packaged

Each chocolate bar is packaged using recycled paper and wrapped in a biodegradable plant-based fiber
